Rhythm of Nations - Ipharadisi - David Marlatt - Level 3 -  Eighth Note Publications

 

David Marlatt is an Ontario music educator, composer, and performing musician. As well as all of those things, he is the owner and business manager of Eighth Note Publications, one of the first Canadian companies to advocate and promote music by Canadians for Canadians on a large scale. Eighth Note publishes many excellent pieces by some of Canada's best composers and arrangers for wind band, brass and woodwind ensembles, and soloists. With lots of African rhythms and percussion, Rhythm of Nations – Ipharadisi is a perfect spring concert feature to perform with a local choir. If your high school does a family of schools concert, this would work very well also, the elementary students could join on African drums, and in the choir. The same plan would work with a mass community band project.

En plus de toutes ces tâches, il est aussi propriétaire et administrateur de la compagnie Eighth Note Publications, une des premières compagnies canadiennes à préconiser et promouvoir la musique canadienne à grande échelle. Eighth Note publie plusieurs excellentes pièces pour harmonies, ensembles de cuivres et de bois, et de la musique de soliste par certains de nos meilleurs compositeurs et arrangeurs canadiens. Avec beaucoup de rythmes africains et de percussion, Rhythm of Nations-Ipharadisi est une pièce parfaite pour un concert de printemps avec une chorale. Si votre école secondaire participe à des concerts de familles d’écoles, cette pièce serait un excellent choix : les élèves de l’élémentaire pourrait jouer les tambours africains, et pourrait aussi chanter dans la chorale. Ce même plan pourrait être utilisé comme projet communautaire.
